Folklore and Legends

"Legend has it that if you kiss your scone before eating it ~ good luck will come to you”

For generations

People have enjoyed the Scone since the 1500"s, originating in the United Kingdom.  Bringing a wee bit of Ireland to you ~ The Blarney Scone is a taste of Ireland with an American Flair!

The Blarney Scone Homestead Bakery operates under the Florida Cottage food operations industry and does not require a license or permit from the Florida Department of Agriculture and is not inspected by any state government entity.  Scones are made by former restaurant and business owner with over 30 years experience in the food industry.  Great care is given in the creations of our scones with attention to sanitation and handling. Scones made with nuts are prepared separately from our regular batches.   Family and friends have enjoyed our product for years and now we are sharing them with you to enjoy as well.

A scone is like an Irish ballad, and every note—from the cream to the jam—is meant to be savored. This is our simple guide to creating the perfect symphony of flavors.

Just as a song is best enjoyed in its entirety, your scone is a work of art best enjoyed with a bit of care. Here's how to serve and savor every bite.

Scone Story, From My Family to Yours

Join me on a journey that begins in the rolling green hills of Scotland and Ireland, where a love for simple, honest food has been a family tradition for generations. This video is a glimpse into how that heritage has found a home in my Florida kitchen.

Every scone baked is a reflection of this story—blending time-honored techniques with fresh, local ingredients and the best seasonal fruits. It’s a taste of history, a bit of magic, and a whole lot of heart.

I’ve been cooking for as long as I could see over a countertop — from lead baker in my high school home economics class, to restauranteur, to a lifelong love of cooking and baking that now spans over 45 years.

My work is rooted in family and tradition, drawing from a rich heritage of Polish, German, Baltic, Hungarian, Scottish, and Irish ancestors. While all have shaped my kitchen, it is the Irish traditions — with recipes scribbled on bits of paper or remembered by heart — that I’ve chosen to honor most. Scones, soda bread, shortbread, soups, and stews were born from days of working the land and gathering around a hearty table.

I am proud of the roots I’ve grown from, and even prouder to share what comes from my heart. Time spent in the kitchen, especially when food is shared, is truly one of life’s greatest joys.
